A Bethlehem Christian reflects on Popular Resistance in Palestine
14:30 Saturday 10th August 2019
Friends Meeting House,
Upper Goat Lane, Norwich NR2 1EW
by Professor Mazin Qumsiyeh
Bethlehem and Birzeit Universities.
Professor Qumsiyeh argues that diversity is strength both in human societies and in nature (biodiversity). Palestine (western part of the Fertile Crescent) was and always will be a diverse society even if occasionally there are unsuccessful efforts to make it uniform (e.g. Crusaders, Zionism). He explains why he is very hopeful for the future and what activists are doing on the ground to achieve sustainable human and natural communities even in very difficult circumstances.
